Tampal
Tampal is a mod for the Roland SP-404MK2. It adds USER FX: effects that are loaded from the SD card and chosen in the MFX menu, next to Roland's own, on both effect buses. The engine is free. Effect packs are free for now.
What it runs on
- Roland's stock firmware 5.52.
- DOOM OS 0.6. DOOM OS is Klangfeld Labs' project (MIT licence) and is not delivered with Tampal. If you use DOOM OS, make your DOOM OS image with DOOM OS's own patcher first, then apply Tampal's DOOM OS patch to it on the install page.
How it is delivered
No Roland file is hosted here. You download the 5.52 update from Roland's support page, and the patcher on /install applies Tampal's patch to your own file in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. You copy the result to the SD card and run Roland's updater. Running Roland's updater with Roland's own file takes Tampal off again.
Status
Not released yet. A release is offered only for an image that started on the unit; running in an emulator is not enough to count. See the changelog.
