No sign-in and no email are needed. The engine and the packs are free.

• The engine is a patch, not a firmware file. You apply it on the install page, in your browser, to your own Roland file (or your own DOOM OS image).
• No Roland file is ever hosted here: not the firmware, not the updater, not a patched image. Get the 5.52 update from Roland's support page. (This is Roland's updates page for the SP-404MK2 as DOOM OS's README links it.)
• A pack is a zip of effect files for the FX folder of the SD card, with a manifest, a README and licences. Packs need the engine.
• Check a download against checksums.txt (sample: the file does not exist before the first release).
